Read These Lessons For Girls!

Everybody needs to read the eight posts on Historiann’s list of Lessons for Girls. I really mean that. Go NOW and read. If you don’t have time for all eight, please at least read about anger.

If I wish I had learned one lesson earlier in life, it’s this: it’s okay to be angry, it’s okay to make other people angry, and anger can work for you. (Well, that might be three lessons, but I find it hard to disentangle them, so bear with me.)

I found this link to Historiann’s goodness from a comment on a post over at Dr. Isis’s pad, but unfortunately I did not pay attention as to where. If you are the fabulous soul who dropped the original link over at Isis’s place, leave a comment here so I can properly thank you.

I’m not the person who linked to them in Isis’ comments, but it was “jc” in the second comment on this post.
I followed the same link yesterday 🙂

    Damn, Zuska, that’s depressing.
Not that there’s anything wrong with any of them; they’re all totally spot-on. It’s depressing that they’re still needed.
I think I’ll go and meditate on how fortunate I am in the women I’m close to.

How about meditating on how fortunate everyone around you would be if you shut your fucking yap?

I read those, and used one this very evening to avoid a toxic person. Thanks, Zuska!

    CPP –
Thank you for contributing absolutely nothing to the discussion. Whilst I decide which of these lessons would be best applied to you in these circumstances, please FOAD.
    1. Anger, by Historiann. (nope, you’re not worth it)
    2. Opting Out, by Dr. Crazy. (I’d ignore you except you are all over these blogs like scabs on impetigo, with a vocabulary that indicates serious lack of imagination.)
    3. On Pity, by Professor Zero. (Pathetic? Maybe.)
    4. Independence, by Sutton. (You wouldn’t know how to handle an independent woman.)
    5. Trust Your Instincts, by Undine. (my instincts are telling me you are a jerk … and your behavior is adding data to the equation)
    6. No Apologies, by Exile in Academia. (like if ever!)
    7. It’s okay if not everyone likes you, by Geeky Mom. (I don’t like you. You are on a level with the blog-spammers who pop up with depressing regularity, spewing nonsense.)
Although, if you were to actually show up in Phoenix, and if you are as obnoxious in person as you are on blogs, I’d have to make the effort to adjust the attitude of your dangly bits – they are dangling so low that the would need a percussive adjustment by means of my patella.

Thanks for the link, Zuska. I’m really enjoying your blog and learning a lot from you and Dr. Isis, too. I’m pleased if anyone finds my “Lessons for Girls” useful.

Many thanks to JC for pointing me to Historiann’s post in the first place! And kudos again on providing such a great service, Historiann. That collection of posts totally rocks.
